For the past few days, I had seen many great historical sites and places i also enjoy are going to restaurant and stores. There are many stores and restaurant i have never been to and most of them are amazing! My favorite restaurant in Washington D.C is called “Komi”. Komi is a really expensive restaurant but it is worth it since i’m won't be able to come here next time. Komi is a American Mediterranean restaurant and it is rated 4.4 stars. I would recommend you to save up a lot of money and go to this restaurant first before going to any other restaurant. This restaurant serve you a set meal consisting of a dozen or so dishes, mostly seafood, and it cost 150 dollars per person. It also serve old world focus wine and beer for around 75 dollars. There are also good restaurant called Zaytina, Rasika, BlueDick Tavern, and many more I’ve never heard before back in my hometown. In my vacation trip, I only went to one mall called Mazza Gallerie. I think this is one of the biggest mall in Washington D.C and there are many entertainment, stores, and fine dining. There are also a movie theater and store I’ve seen back in my hometown but the price here is expensive. I think Washington D.C. doesn't have mall like the one in my hometown. But DC has a famous spot for stores and restaurant called Union Station. The stores in Union Station are mostly makeup, barely any clothe stores and there are some souvenirs. I really wanted to go to Ann Taylor since I never went to that store before and I would like see what kind of style people in Washington wear since it is a popular store. In Union Station, I would like to try the Southeast Asian Shop House Kitchen. This restaurant is like Chipotle but it is an Asian version of it. The rating of this restaurant is 3 and half star but i recommend it if you like Chipotle and would want to try the Asian version of Chipotle. The food here is pretty fast and cheap and it also serves beer. The atmosphere is loud since people would get in line to choose their own sides for their bowl and there are a lot of people going in and out of the store.

Post #7 SPRINGTIME WITH CHERRY BLOSSOMS
Let me give you an advice. If you are able to tour around the government work or near the White House, be prepared. There will be a lot of walking and later on you could also get sore or cramps in your lower body. Ladies, remember not wear high heels and wear comfortable clothes. Also, for men, do not wear your belt or shoes with large buckles because there would be a metal sensor right when you enter the buildings. The government provide a metal sensor because they don’t want anyone to enter with a weapon or else something would go bad. Lastly, do not bring your lunch or else the security will take it away from you, So remember to bring your money because they will be selling food inside. Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer are the senators for my state which is California. The representative for my district is Tom McClintock. If i could able to meet them, i would try to find their website or try googling it and would email them In order to set an appointment. But if I really want to meet them badly, i could also send them a mail too but have to find their address before hand. In order to make your business letter professional remember to write down yours and the receiver's address, date, and name .In the letter, you should write why you wrote this letter and what is your concern that makes you want to have an appointment with them. Remember that the mail should be short because the senator don’t have time to read all of it since they have a lot of other mail they have to read. If i could get an appointment with the senator i would dress up nicely and prepare some questions. Remember they would ask you why you want to have an appointment with the senators. Questions that i would ask is how the issues going between our country and our allies with the ISIS. I want to ask this question because most of the people today i still frightened about the Paris attack last month. Most people believe that the ISIS would attack our country next and ask the senator what we should do to prevent it from happening. Another question is what i could do to help the poor and to make the country grow stronger.

Post #6 THE UNITED STATES CAPITAL BUILDING
The United State Capitol is a place where the people would have a meeting of the United States Congress. In the House Chambers, there are 23 members in the relief portraits surrounding the walls. The members are Moses, Solon Papinian, Gaius, Maimonides, Suleiman the Magnificent, Pope, Innocent III, Simon de Montfortm Hugo Grotius, Willian Blackstone, Napoleon I, Thomas Jefferson, George Mason, Robert Joseph Pothier, Jean Baptiste Colbert, Edward I, Alfonso X, Gregory IX, Saint Louis, Justinian I, Tribonian, Lycurgus of Sparta, and lastly Hammurabi. I think the reaon why these image were chosen is because theu are the most faomous lawmaker and lawgiver throughout the history especially Moses. There are so many member that interest me, but out of all of them, thomas Jefferson, Napoleon I, and Moses are the top three in my list. Thomas Jefferson is the third preident of the Unitd States and the first republican President who limited the government's power in order for the people to have more liberty and rights. I think he is a really successful person in his first term and also the most important thing is that he wrote the Declaration of Independence that has changed everyone's lives.Nect is Napoleon I. He was the leader of the French military who led a successful campaign in the Revolutionary War. Even though Napoleon I isn't American, he is one of our allies. Many people in France lovehim because he would try to help the people gain freedom during the French Revolution. Lastly, is Moses. Moses is a Hebrew prophet and a lawgiver. Also, the Commandments was given to Moses by God. I think Moses is the most importantperson because in the House Chamber, there are 11 portrait on the left and right facing each other, but one of them, which is Moses, was right between them. Two examples of art or architecture that inspires democracy are Jeffersonian Architecture and Pericles.

While exploring through the monuments and memorial visually, my favorite sites are Ford’s theater, Washington Monument and the Arlington National Cemetery. The only theater I know is the Ford’s theater that is located at 511 10th Street, NW, Washington D.C. and started stage performances in 1860s. Many people know this theater because it is where the President Lincoln got assassinated on April 14, 1865 and died the next day. This theater is called Ford’s theater is because he’s the one who bought this theater. Before, it used to be a church but later on he constructed into a theater. What impact that it have on me is that there are many actor and actress has a chance to act in this stage. This theater is the most famous historical theater and now there are so many who really want to act on this. Back then, there are so many actor and actress that could perform like Laura Keene, Harry Hawk, John Wilkes Booth and many more! The second monument or memorial I like is the Arlington National Cemetery. While virtually looking in the Arlington National Cemetery, I didn’t know that it is a U.S. cemetery. They started buried the dead since the American Civil War until now. This cemetery is across the Potomac River from Washington D.C..Today, there are families who would go to this cemetery and visit them. Most people would get lost in this cemetery and today, there is an app called “ANC explorer” that lets families and friend to locate the grave sites or event throughout the cemetery. What impact me is that I should be proud how many people would risk their life to fight their country. Remember how I post my intro that why I wanted to go to Washington? It’s because I really want to see the Lincoln Memorial. That is my number place why I wanted to go because I want to see the statue of Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln Monument is a monument that is built to honor the 16th president and it is located northwest of the National Mall in Washington D.C.. I think he is the only president that would do anything to help the country stronger. He’s the one that eliminate all the slavery in the U.S. and would risk his life while fulfill his duties in the American military. Also I want to go there because I want to honor Lincoln and appreciate how he does a lot of things to help our country.

My first week in Washington D.C., was amazing! My family and I went touring around the Supreme Court, and learned a lot of things about it. During the tour, it talks about the Supreme Court and how it works. The Supreme Court is the highest court in the nation, and it is the only federal group which is stated in the Constitution. How the Supreme Court works is that the Supreme Court would choose a cases to take and would talk about it. They would choose the cases that are socially important and will resolve the conflict of the law. Most of the cases won't be able to be discussed by the Supreme Court because they receives several thousands of cases every year from lower courts. The term of the Supreme Court start the first Monday of October and continue on until the early July. The term are divided between the Justices who would listen to the court cases and later express their opinion during sitting, and the recesses would discuss the case and write down their opinions. The Constitution gives the Supreme Court to check the legislative and executive branch. On top of the building there’s a carving of Moses sitting on a throne. Most of the people know that Moses is a really powerful person. So this means that the building itself display shows that this Supreme court has the power and authority. Arts and Architecture i found is the The Bronze Door. The Bronze Door which is the entrance leading to the courtroom made by Cass Gilbert. While researching more about this, this is my favorite because the door is comprised of 8 significant events like the Magna Carta, Shield of Archilles, Justinian Code and more! Another art or architecture that is my favorite is The Contemplation of Justice. This statue is located left side in front of the supreme court. I like this statue because it shows that not only men has the power to decide on laws but women could participate on making laws which you see a woman holding a book the book. The third statue that is my favorite is the Authority of Law that is located on the opposite side of The Contemplation of Justice which is on the right side of the Supreme Court. I choose this because it shows that the man is hsitting to discuss of the law or cases patiently. He is sitting calmly while holding the tablet of laws that is carved on the tablet LEX which is in Latin meaning law. He is showing this tablet because he want to tell us that the Supreme Court will make laws every year to make our country better.

The Declaration of the Independence and the Constitution looks like a historical document that was written for several hundred of years. These document is housed in downtown Washington D.C in the Rutunda of the National Archives Building. The Declaration of the Independence is important because it let people live their own life. This document contains the goals of our nation, stated that the colonist has enough issues of the British crown rules, and reasons why the people want to avoid the British crown rule and be freely. The Constitution is really important because it established the law and the government for the citizen. If there isn’t a Constitution, we wouldn’t be able to form a country, the United States. Also it gives us things what rights we have and what we could do. I found the importance in the document of the Constitution and the Declaration of the Independence. The National Archives and Record Administration is in charge to preserve or protect these important document. They also protect any other historical document that i important for our nation. The Declaration of Independence represent to our society and our prosperity is that the people, citizen has the right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. This will let the citizen to pursue anything that will bring them joy and no one could not take it away from them. The Constitution represent the society is that us people could form a perfect union by establishing the things that are listed in the Constitution. This mean that this document could help us create a government that would help us be in our good hands for the future and will have the security and safety around us.

Post #2 THE WHITE HOUSE-- THE PEOPLE'S HOUSE
Dear Congressmen,
Last week, my friend told me if one day I visit Washington D.C., i should visit the White House too. I heard that the tour in the White House is one of the most popular to attend. She told me I had to book a ticket in advance in order to me take the tour but i didn't know. I am writing a letter this to you if i could visit the white house even though i didn't book the ticket in advance since i'm already in Washington D.C. and ask you if i could take the tour early this week. I have seen the white house virtually but I really want to see it in person. Taking the tour virtually, I enjoyed looking at the portraits and small statues of the presidents and able to look around the rooms. Also, it would be nice if i could see the first lady and the president. Looking inside the White House virtually is really nice house I've ever seen and it was fun looking at ancient things and old furniture. What I like about the White House is that almost all of the room are decorated differently and has different color wallpaper in each room. The founding father felt like the White House is important to build for the president because it is the symbol of our country. This house shows us that America is strong and has freedom. Also, this house is a place where everyone work together including the president to make America a better country. Since the first lady said that the White House is everyone’s home, I would like to request a visit. I wanted to visit the White House because I would like to learn more about my country and see many interesting arts and what people do or work in the White House. This is really important for me because i don't really know a lot about my country and it would be nice if i could visit. If i don't get a chance to visit, I will probably take a walk around the White House and view the beautiful scenery around that area. If the tour is full, can i book a tour now for a couple month. If yes, I would be happy to go back and visit again!
Thank You,
Annie DangPost #1 WE ARE GOING TO THE CAPITAL
Hey Guys! I'll be making a blog about my trip to Washington D.C. since it's my first time coming here. I just got out of the airport in Washington D.C. and the weather here is cold and freezing. Since I'm here already, the only thing I know about Washington D.C. is that there are a lot of tourist and one of the state that has a highest crime rate which some people called it a "murder capital". I'n Washington D.C., I think it has the most museum and historical site compare to other state since it is a capital. What draws me attention about this state is the culture. Most people said that Washington D.C. is the most popular for arts. There are many performing arts which are Ford's Theater, John F. Kennedy Center, Shakespeare Theater Company and many more! Today there are around 80 professional theaters and 300 or more productions. Most of the people would go to D.C. just for the amazing arts and wanted to know more about the history of the capital. In my trip, I predict that there would be a lot of places that has a historical landmarks where many people would enjoy going and that the weather would be cold everyday in my whole trip. I expect that i would see a lot of historical background especially the Lincoln Monument. That's the reason why I wanted to go on this trip. I think going on a 2-3 days tour around the capital would be fun and spend another couple of days around different places and enjoy my time with my family. I wanted to see the Lincoln Monument because it is the oldest Monument in the National Mall and wanted to see the statue of Abraham Lincoln. This was built since Abraham Lincoln was our President and was to show the country our loyalty to the nation. Also, it would nice if i could also see the the Jefferson Memorial since i’m already in Washington D.C. Touring around the capital will help me learn more about my Country and it is also a fun way to learn about the history.
